NBA Returns to NBC and Peacock with Exciting 2025-26 Season Opener

This October, the NBA returns to NBC. Moreover, all games will also stream nationwide on Peacock. Therefore, fans will have more ways to watch their favorite teams. The season officially starts on October 21 with an exciting doubleheader.

🎉 Season Opener Doubleheader

First, at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Oklahoma City Thunder will raise their championship banner. During the ceremony, MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his teammates will receive rings from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. This is a special moment for the team and its fans.

Immediately after, the Thunder will play the Houston Rockets. Notably, this game features former Thunder star Kevin Durant. As a result, expect a strong competition between two top Western Conference teams.

Later, at 10 p.m. ET, Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors will face LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers. While both stars still draw big crowds, fans will also watch Luka Doncic and Jimmy Butler closely. For instance, Doncic recently shared photos showing he is in better shape after the offseason.

📺 Peacock NBA Monday Launch

In addition, NBC Sports and the NBA will debut Peacock NBA Monday. This weekly doubleheader will stream exclusively on Peacock. The first games air on October 27.

First, Donovan Mitchell’s Cleveland Cavaliers will host Cade Cunningham’s Detroit Pistons. Then, Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves will play Nikola Jokić’s Denver Nuggets.

On January 19, 2026, NBC Sports will air a special Martin Luther King Jr. Day quadrupleheader. Several star players, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young, will participate.
